Overview
Tay Ninh is a southern province bordering Cambodia and a major producer of sugarcane and rubber. It is also known as the home of the Cao Dai religion's main temple. Tay Ninh's sugarcane industry is one of the largest in Vietnam, with several sugar mills in operation.
Features of agriculture
The sugarcane-growing area is about 15,000 hectares, one of the largest in Vietnam. Tay Ninh Sugar (part of the TTC Sugar group) is the core of the local economy. The rubber plantations are also vast at about 45,000 hectares, making it a major producer of natural rubber. Cassava is also widely grown, with several tapioca-starch processing plants.
