Overview
Dak Nong Province is a relatively new province, established in 2004 when it was separated from Dak Lak Province. It has the Dak Nong Geopark, certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark, where fertile volcanic soil spreads across a basalt plateau. It is a main producing area for coffee, cashew nuts, and pepper.
Features of agriculture
Coffee (about 130,000 ha) and cashew nuts (about 28,000 ha) are the main crops. Because it is a relatively new province, there are many young trees compared with other Central Highlands provinces, and its productivity potential is said to be high. Cultivation of pepper, macadamia nuts, and avocado is also increasing.
Main agricultural products
Coffee (about 130,000 ha), cashew nuts (about 28,000 ha), pepper, macadamia nuts, avocado, rubber
