Overview
Tra Vinh is a coastal province in the eastern Mekong Delta with a strong Khmer culture. Its landscape of coconut groves and shrimp ponds is distinctive. In recent years, the adoption of renewable energy (wind power) has also advanced.
Features of agriculture
Shrimp farming and rice growing are the core industries. The coastal shrimp-farming area is about 30,000 hectares and expanding. Coconut cultivation is also about 20,000 hectares, second in scale only to Ben Tre province.
