Overview
Tien Giang is located at the gateway from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta, and My Tho City is a hub for Mekong Delta tourism that draws many visitors. Fruit cultivation is the hallmark of this province's agriculture, with many kinds of fruit grown, including dragon fruit, sapodilla, and jackfruit.
Features of agriculture
The fruit-growing area reaches about 80,000 hectares, making it one of the leading fruit regions in the Mekong Delta. Dragon fruit (Cho Gao district) and sapodilla are especially widely grown. Rice farming is also important, producing about 1.5 million tonnes of rice a year.
