Overview

Phu Tho is a historically important province, home to the Hung Kings' hills (an intangible cultural heritage of the world) said to be the birthplace of Vietnamese civilization. Located at the confluence of the Red River and the Black River (Da River), it is an agricultural region blessed with fertile soil. It is known as a tea-producing area on par with Thai Nguyen, and the tea from the Ha Hoa district in particular is highly regarded for its quality.

Features of agriculture

Tea cultivation is one of the pillars of Phu Tho's agriculture. The tea-garden area is about 16,000 hectares, producing both green tea and black tea. The Phu Tho Tea Research Institute, established during the period of British governance, is the technical hub of Vietnam's tea industry. Citrus fruits (pomelo from Doan Hung) are also famous and are distributed nationwide as gifts during Tet (the Lunar New Year).

Main agricultural products

Tea (about 16,000 ha), pomelo (from Doan Hung), citrus, rice, corn, cassava, fish farming

Drawing on the appeal of both Japanese and Vietnamese food cultures, I aim to bring a little richness to daily life.
