Bac Giang lychee harvest begins May 25—exports strengthened with 117 GlobalGAP-certified orchards
Bac Giang province in northern Vietnam began the early harvest of its 2026 lychee crop on May 25. Although poor weather cut output to about 95,000 tonnes, a certification framework of 204 ha under GlobalGAP and 16,000 ha under VietGAP strengthens high-quality exports to Japan and the EU. -

Vietnamese durian exports have stalled due to a shortage of inspection labs. With inspection concentrated at 13 accredited facilities, the Ri6 variety dropped 20%. We report the full picture of an abnormal situation in which 80 facilities in Dong Thap province have halted operations and hundreds of containers are stuck.
