Ca Mau province moves toward 54,000 hectares of low-emission rice, shifting rice cultivation through cooperatives and carbon
Ca Mau province, Vietnam's southernmost province, will convert 54,680 hectares of paddy to low-emission rice by 2030. Alternate wetting and drying cuts seed rice by 20–40%, and profit is boosted by up to about 48,000 yen per hectare. We read, from a Japanese buyer's perspective, this shift in rice cultivation that, built on traceability, has carbon credits in view.
