Although a large city with a population of about 8.5 million, vast farmland remains in the suburbs, where suburban agriculture is actively carried out. Located at the center of the Red River Delta, it is blessed with fertile alluvial soil.<\/p>\n<p>By absorbing and merging Ha Tay Province in 2008, its area expanded greatly, coming to include broad agricultural areas in the west and south. Flower cultivation is also an important industry, and before Tet (the Lunar New Year), kumquats and peach blossoms color the markets.<\/p>\n<p>In the western Ba Vi district, dairy-cow farming is thriving, making it one of Vietnam's leading dairy areas.
